Mark has lived in the Bancroft area all his life and have spent a great deal of that time in the outdoors fishing, cross country skiing, hiking or taking photos of the local landscapes for use in his original acrylic paintings.
His interest in art began at an early age and he has freelanced cartoons to magazines, books and publications in the United States and Canada. ( Ontario Out of Doors, Western Outdoors, Starlog Magazine, Dragon Magazine, and Country Connection among others.)
One of his cartoons was selected as the “Cartoon of the Year” circulation 9,999 and under in 2005 by the Ontario Community Newspaper Association.
Mark has also won awards for his original acrylic paintings ( Second place in the open Wildlife Category at the Buckhorn Wildlife Art Festival) and his work has been displayed in a number of galleries and shows.
Mark also has a musical background and has played in bands since high school. He has played for various events, fairs and festivals regionally, and released a CD of original music with the band “Neon Blue”. The “Canadian Country Music News ” in their review of the CD compared the songs to the early material of the Eagles and the Good Brothers. Mark plays bass guitar for Blues Boyler, a band in which he also sings harmony and lead vocals.
A Real Estate Representative since 2008, Mary endeavors to bring the same level of passion and dedication to serving his client that he brings to his art and music. As he says, “It is never lost on me that a real estate transaction is usually the single biggest purchase or sale that someone will make in their lifetime and I take that very seriously”.
